Neighborhood Ball Games: A Free Fun Kids Game

It is springing.  I am not one to say finally because I am not upset with cold dreary winter.  The winter is beautiful also.  I like all weather, just so I am here to know what it is, I am happy.  However, the signs of kids getting outside to get the winter stink blown off of them is refreshing.  The first sighting is that of the used to be baby neighbor kids up the street.  I do not know them but I know who belongs there, at least by vehicle.

What caught my eye was that they were out with, I think grandma and gramps and they were all playing baseball.  There has always been some form of a baseball game up there because the older (sons) who live or lived there, always played too.  I thought to myself how fun for those kids would it  be if they took the game to the street like the big kids do?  Then answered to myself, no they are little.  It is a dead end where I live, so the idea is not totally out of the ball park.  The next time I looked out the window, grandma and gramps had moved the game to the street!  I just happen to think that is a happy thought and really wanted to share it.

I think next time my nephew asks if he can run up to play, I may let him at least go and watch.  Isn't this what neighborhoods are supposed to be about?  You don't have to be BFF's but knowing your neighbors, not a bad thing.  And little kids like to hang out with older kids and adults, so get the whole family out there to play.  It does not necessarily have to be in the street kids!  If you are less than 18 let your parents be the judge of where you should play okay?  And no little kids out there trying it out without adults.  I mean it, no one needs the drama.  Also one last rule, pay attention to other people's possessions, cars, homes, lawns and gardens.  Thank you and play ball!

I love picturing perfection in my rose colored spectacles.
