- Big City Life has been Fun, but it's Time to Go
I would love to say that I am leaving town with just a few suitcases, but that is impossible. I need my furniture. It is not like the olden days anymore, when people moved they left the furniture and just loaded everything into trunks and strapped it to the top of the wooden panel vehicle and hit the road. (…)

- If I Should Die Before I Wake
As a child, this was always so frightening to say as I was ready to be alone in a dark room for hours. I would be unable to sleep sometimes and worry about dying. Years and years later, this prayer has come to mind as I prepare to go to bed and I feel as if I may actually die. I pray that I won't, I pray that I will be able to contact 911, I pray that I will survive and I pray for the strength for God to help me to eat better, exercise more and live a much healthier lifestyle. I have an author/minister friend Patricia A. (…)

- Plan B
Ironically, all morning I have been writing timelines for my Plans A/B/C/D and E - I do not think I will have plan F, unless it all falls apart. The news teasers were saying something about Plan B all morning and it is about the morning after pill. I would hate to have to make that decision that quickly. (…)

- What Kids Say Can Make the Most Sense to Solving a Problem
For several years I have saved a number of voice mail messages which my nephew Parker has left me. Some I have transferred to my VHS but the sound is broken on it now and I have not purchased a new device. My worst fear was that I would hit 7 to delete instead of 9 to re-save as the messages come up for review and that is exactly what happened. Rather than the deleted message recovery option before I hung up in the session, I panicked and hung up immediately, it is gone forever. What kids say is so real and I have really enjoyed listening to these messages and plan give him copies when he is older. (…)

- New Year Resolutions Solutions
Happy New Day
As each year renews, so do our intentions to do better and be better. Why the pretense for us to make changes only when the year begins? I get it, the start of a new year is a good turning point. I would just like to see us continually try to change the things we want to change about ourselves rather than give up if you have failed to keep any so far. 2010 is a long time from now and you can still do a lot of good in 2009.
The first of the New Year resolutions solutions is not to make any, why let yourself down and have a better chance of getting into that winter funk? Encourage yourself to do better and be better everyday, this will get you used to the work that goes into changing. It is not easy, you will fail to keep your promises and it will bum you out. Do not use the excuse of failing to give up. If you have not held up your end of the bargain with yourself to eat right, don't eat badly for the rest of this year and try again next year, try again today! Allow yourself to fail and do not beat yourself up for doing so, beat yourself up for not trying again. (…)
